If so, this could be your next career move.</em><strong><br></strong></p><p><strong>The opportunity</strong></p><p>We are looking for a <strong>Responsible Person (RP) Deputy</strong> to join our QA team and support the establishment of Abacus Medicine Latvia. In this critical role, you will be responsible for implementing a local Quality Management System (QMS), obtaining a Wholesaler Distribution Authorisation (WDA), and ensuring compliance with both EU and local GDP regulations.</p><p>You will work closely with our international QA colleagues and business partners, and you will act as a subject matter expert (SME) in GDP-related matters. The position is based in Romania and offers flexibility to work remotely. Some travel (approx. 2 days per quarter) may be required.</p><p></p><p><strong>We would like you to:</strong></p><p>In this role, you will take full responsibility for ensuring that Abacus Medicine Latvia is inspection-ready, compliant, and set up for long-term success. Your tasks will cover both strategic and hands-on elements, such as:</p><ul><li><p>Acting as the Responsible Person (RP) for Abacus Medicine Latvia</p></li><li><p>Establishing and implementing the local Quality Management System (QMS)</p></li><li><p>Maintaining the Wholesaler Distribution Authorisation (WDA) and ensuring ongoing GDP compliance</p></li><li><p>Overseeing and qualifying a Third-Party Logistics (3PL) provider</p></li><li><p>Preparing for and supporting authority inspections</p></li></ul><p>You will also contribute actively to our international QA community by:</p><ul><li><p>Participating in QA meetings and serving as a GDP subject matter expert</p></li><li><p>Driving quality excellence and continuous improvement initiatives</p></li><li><p>Collaborating closely with colleagues and stakeholders across borders</p></li></ul><p><strong><br>About you, our new colleague:</strong></p><p>We are looking for a highly skilled professional who combines technical expertise with a collaborative and business-minded approach. Ideally, you bring:</p><ul><li><p>5+ years of experience as a Responsible Person or Deputy within the pharmaceutical industry</p></li><li><p>Formal qualification to act as RP and/or Deputy</p></li><li><p>A Master’s degree in pharmacy, chemistry, or a related field</p></li><li><p>In-depth knowledge of local GDP regulations and EU GDP guidelines (GMP knowledge is an advantage)</p></li><li><p>Proven experience in setting up new wholesale licenses</p></li><li><p><strong>You must be based in Latvia and hold a valid work permit </strong></p></li></ul><p>In addition, you will thrive in this role if you:</p><ul><li><p>Communicate fluently in English and the local language (other European languages are a plus)</p></li><li><p>Are culturally aware and confident working in an international environment</p></li><li><p>Bring a proactive, problem-solving mindset with a strong business sense</p></li><li><p>Enjoy working independently, but also value teamwork, agility, and cross-border collaboration</p></li></ul><p><strong><br>Are your interested?</strong></p><p>If you are ready to take on a highly independent role in an international setting - where you will be trusted with responsibility and given room to grow - we would love to hear from you.
