Position Overview
A private household on Block Island, Rhode Island is seeking an experienced and professional live-in domestic couple to manage and maintain a high-standard residence. This opportunity is ideal for a couple with a background in hospitality or yachting who are accustomed to delivering exceptional service in a private setting.
One partner will take primary responsibility for culinary operations as a Private Chef, while the other will oversee household management and guest services. The couple will work collaboratively to ensure seamless day-to-day operations and an outstanding experience for residents and guests.
Key Responsibilities
Private Chef (Partner 1):
- Plan, prepare, and present high-quality meals tailored to the preferences of the principals and guests
- Source fresh, seasonal ingredients and manage kitchen inventory
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas
- Accommodate dietary restrictions and special requests
- Support entertaining needs, including small gatherings and events
House & Guest Manager (Partner 2):
- Oversee daily household operations and ensure the property is maintained to a high standard
- Manage guest services, including welcoming, hosting, and attending to guest needs
- Coordinate housekeeping, laundry, and general home organization
- Assist with event setup and service as needed
- Act as a point of contact for vendors and service providers
Shared Responsibilities:
- Maintain discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times
- Work collaboratively to ensure smooth household operations
- Provide a high level of service consistent with luxury hospitality standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a domestic couple, or in complementary roles within private households, luxury hospitality, or yachting
- Strong culinary skills (for Chef role) with a passion for fresh, high-quality cuisine
- Excellent organizational and guest service skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
- Professional demeanor and strong attention to detail
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation: $4,000 per week (combined)
- Housing: Private one-bedroom apartment provided on-site
