Senior Bookkeeper Duties
- Manage and maintain comprehensive financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
- Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping
- Reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts regularly to ensure accuracy
- Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Support audit preparations by providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Monitor cash flow and assist in budgeting processes
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial data integrity and compliance with organisational policies
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Senior Bookkeeper, ideally within a firm of accountants
- Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, and Xero
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience managing accounts payable and receivable processes
- Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to work independently whilst maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines
- Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance are preferred but not essential
